Nachtwey, inspirovaný fotografiemi z války ve Vietnamu, dokumentuje lidské utrpení ve válkách, při teroru i nemocích. Jeho cílem je upozornit svět a podnítit změnu – jeho snímky nejsou snadné na pohled, ale zůstanou v paměti.
