What happens when we are left behind?
The Consequences is a hybrid collection of prose and poetry by Max Brett. It is an autofictional examination of the pain of a transatlantic relocation from New York to the blanketing beige of Paris to rejoin a totemic muse. The collection also focuses on corgi attacks, Maryland, painful anxiety, the struggle to accept the things one cannot change, the third party and the past as adamantine shackles. The "towering sexual iconography of Mike Immerman" looms over the disorientation of a reluctant resident in “the City of Light.”
Max Brett's previous collection of poetry, Nor Do These, was published in 2019.

Co se stane, když zůstaneme pozadu?
Následky je hybridní sbírka prózy a poezie Maxe Bretta. Je to autofiktivní zkoumání bolesti transatlantického stěhování z New Yorku do béžové Paříže, aby se znovu setkal s totemickou múzou. Sbírka se také věnuje útokům korgiho, Marylandu, bolestné úzkosti, snaze přijmout věci, které člověk nemůže změnit, třetí straně a minulosti jako neochvějným okovům. Nad dezorientací neochotného obyvatele "města světla" se vznáší "vznosná sexuální ikonografie Mikea Immermana".
Předchozí básnická sbírka Maxe Bretta s názvem Nor Do These vyšla v roce 2019.
