Základem literárního debutu Ondřeje Sekaniny Šamanský růženec se stala vyprávění La Inthonkaew (nar. asi 1980), pocházející z Thajska a žijící již téměř dvě desetiletí v Praze. Zde se začala věnovat výtvarné tvorbě, kterou lze řadit do oblasti outsider art – detaily z jejích maleb knihu volně doprovázejí. Próza je cyklem sto osmi vzpomínkových „vizí“ o její nevšední cestě. Šamanský růženec lze číst jako poutavé svědectví o životních podmínkách na okraji džungle, její drsnosti i spiritualitě, neobyčejných zvyklostech, společenských normách i mentalitě kultury pro nás stále exotické. Jednu z podstatných linií dobrodružného příběhu ale představuje také hrdinčino postupné a nesnadné objevování českého prostředí; to nahlíží stejně jako celý svět jedinečnou perspektivou ženy, jejímž otcem byl venkovský šaman. Především ale próza vyniká literárními kvalitami – lapidárním jazykem, hutnou a pestrou obrazivostí, dramatickými dějovými zvraty a sugestivním rytmem.

The basis of Ondřej Sekanina's literary debut Shaman's Rosary was the story of La Inthonkaew (born about 1980), who comes from Thailand and has been living in Prague for almost two decades. Here she began to devote herself to artistic creation, which can be classified as outsider art - details from her paintings freely accompany the book. The prose is a cycle of one hundred and eight memory "visions" about her extraordinary journey. The shaman's rosary can be read as an engaging testimony of living conditions on the edge of the jungle, its harshness and spirituality, unusual customs, social norms and the mentality of a culture still exotic to us. However, one of the essential lines of the adventure story is also represented by the heroine's gradual and difficult discovery of the Czech environment; she views it, like the rest of the world, from the unique perspective of a woman whose father was a rural shaman. Above all, the prose stands out for its literary qualities - lapidary language, dense and varied imagery, dramatic plot twists and suggestive rhythm.
