Viktor Mácha bol posledným fotografom, ktorý zdokumentoval ukrajinské závody ťažkého priemyslu pred ruskou inváziou. Cestoval až za Ural – ba dokonca až do brazílskych pralesov alebo na juh Afriky. Čierne diery mu vydávajú jeho prvú knihu. Pretože je celosvetovo unikátna. Nikto nemá zbierku ako on. A to nie je vyštudovaný fotograf, ale teológ z Univerzity Karlovej v Prahe. Fotí pomníky industriálnej éry, niektoré krátko pred zánikom, pričom táto kniha sa zameriava na krajiny bývalého východného bloku, kde sa mnohé závody zachovali ešte v pôvodnom stave – od Slovenska a Česka až po Rumunsko a Rusko.

Viktor Mácha was the last photographer to document Ukraine’s heavy-industry plants before the Russian invasion. He travelled as far as beyond the Urals—and even into the Brazilian rainforest and down to southern Africa. Čierne diery is publishing his first book, because it is unique on a global scale. No one has a collection like his. And he isn’t a trained photographer, but a theologian from Charles University in Prague. He photographs monuments of the industrial era, some of them shortly before disappearing, and this book focuses on the countries of the former Eastern Bloc, where many factories have been preserved in their original state—from Slovakia and the Czech Republic all the way to Romania and Russia.
