The book offers an open-ended look at the structure of student work produced at the graphic arts school in Prague, spanning from the 1940s to the early 2000s. Its content is drawn from an extensive photographic archive of school projects and features prominent figures from the photography department (Robinsonová, Seidling, Jarcovjáková, Malý, Jasanský, Polák, Fárová, Holý, …).

Pohled do života školy a její historie představují v knize neformální rozhovory bývalých žáků a pedagogů. Rozmanitost výpovědí odráží celé spektrum motivací, inspirací, nedostatků i ztrát, které zažívali studenti grafické školy v průběhu mnoha generací. Ve svém výběru je zpracoval Rudolf Skopec. Rozhovory názorně ilustrují jednotlivá období a jejich důležitý význam pro mezilidské a profesní vztahy mezi žáky a pedagogy, kteří společně tvořili identitu grafické školy.
A glimpse into the life and history of the school is provided through informal conversations with former students and teachers. The diversity of these accounts reflects the full range of motivations, inspirations, shortcomings, and losses experienced by students over generations. The selection was compiled by Rudolf Skopec.
These interviews vividly illustrate the different periods in the school’s history and their significance in shaping the personal and professional relationships between students and teachers—relationships that together helped form the identity of the graphic arts school.
