V autorské knize Alt Jabel* se Paul Tuttas vrací na místo svého dětství, což je malá vesnice na severu Německa na území bývalého NDR. Autor tam vyrůstal na faře, která je přímo na okraji borového lesa. Kniha zachytí pocit návratu na tak známé místo, kde se toho moc nezměnilo. V ilustracích a krátkých příbězích se můžeme setkat s místy jako jsou duny v borovém lese, dětský pokoj nebo jabloň před farou.

Ilustrace jsou výsledkem grafického experimentu, tedy kombinace dřevořezu a montotypie. Kniha vyšla v nákladu omezeném na 80 výtisků, z nichž první polovina byla vydána v němčině a druhá v češtině.

In his artist’s book Alt Jabel, Paul Tuttas returns to the place of his childhood—a small village in northern Germany, in the former GDR. The author grew up in a rectory located right on the edge of a pine forest. The book captures the feeling of returning to such a familiar place where little has changed. Through illustrations and short stories, we encounter locations such as the dunes in the pine forest, a childhood bedroom, or the apple tree in front of the rectory.

The illustrations are the result of a graphic experiment combining woodcut and monotype. The book was published in a limited edition of 80 copies, with the first half in German and the second half in Czech.
